Weaving for Beginners on a Four shaft Loom
|
|
Sylvia
Glenister from New Zealand led this basic weaving workshop. It was
aimed at potential new weavers who had very little to no knowledge
about the weaving process.
She provided all the instructions to get them started, but the
theory was at the same time so comprehensive that quite a few
experienced weavers learnt something as well about for instance yarn
counts and setts.
Weaving was done on a straight threading and a variety of designs
was given including finger manipulated weaves and colour & weave.
People with a rigid heddle loom were able to follow quite a bit of this
workshop too.
